Awards and juries

Codirected the award-winning feature documentary “Tchindas” (2015), awarded 13 times in festivals such as Outfest Los Angeles (US), nominated at the African Oscars (AMAA Awards) and broadcasted at PBS (US). He has just directed the TV doc “Freshwater Fish (in Saltwater)”
(2018), awarded by the Spanish TV Academy. More recently, “The Writer From a Country Without Bookstores”, awarded in Italy at the DIG Awards for the best investigative journalism. He has published three books and currently works as a freelance for several televisions.

Pere Sallent Puigcercós (Cerdanyola, 1961), is a third-generation film exhibitor. He studied Economics at the UAB and his first job was to manage the family-run cinema, the Kursaal de Cerdanyola, which, after many changes, became the Point 11 Sales Cinemas. He participated in the design and construction of numerous multiplexes, among which were the Punto 10 cinemas in Alzira (Valencia) and the Cinemas Full 28 cinemas in Cornellà. With his own architectural patents, he is currently working on a project called "Full. Building the cinema of the future." It is a project that reinvents the multiplex cinema concept and proposes a radically new "Cinema Palace", capable of prospering in a future environment where cinemas will share its premieres with streaming channels.

Doctor in Audiovisual Communication and Advertising in the field of Audiovisual Studies from a gender perspective. She specializes in Feminist studies in Social sciences, Peace journalism and Educommunication. She dedicates her work as an independent researcher to feminist analysis and criticism of the media, especially focused on film and television series. She is a professor of the Master in Gender and Communication and of the Master in International Health and Cooperation (both from the UAB), and lectures in the area of Feminisms and sexual diversity of the Degree in Social Education from the UOC. She is also part of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA), the Ibero-American Network of Audiovisual Narratives (INAV from its acronym in Spanish) and the Observatory on Information Coverage of Conflicts (OCC) of the UAB. Additionally she is co-coordinator of Acció Estudi at Dones Visuals and research delegate of the Association of women in film and audiovisual media (CIMA).

She co-directed her first film Les Amigues de l'Àgata (2015) with Laia Alabart, Laura Rius and Marta Verheyen. Acclaimed by film critics, it ended up being released successfully in cinemas throughout Spain and being nominated for best film at the Gaudí Awards of the Catalan Film Academy.

As a director, she has participated in the collective piece Chantal Akerman un rècord (2016) with Francina Ribes as a tribute to the filmmaker Chantal Akerman. She has also worked as an assistant director in the film Els dies que vindran by Carlos Marqués-Marcet, which won the Biznaga de oro for Best Film at the Malaga Film Festival. She is currently developing the feature documentary Otredades with Nora Haddad and produced by Amor&Lujo.

Carolina Ciuti (Pistoia, Italy, 1990) is a contemporary art curator and researcher in the fields of visual and performing arts. She graduated in History of Art from the University of Florence (2009-2012) and then she specialized in Contemporary Art with a Master's degree from the Sotheby's Institute of Art in London (2013-2015).

She currently serves as artistic director of the LOOP video art festival in Barcelona, where she started working in 2015 as a curator. At LOOP, she has produced exhibitions, film programmes and performances by internationally recognized artists such as: Regina de Miguel, Agnes Meyer-Brandis, Aleksandra Mir, Muntadas, Steina and Woody Vasulka and Anton Vidokle. She curated the group exhibitions And If Seeing Was Fire (Filmoteca de Catalunya, Barcelona), One Day I Stumbled Upon A Meteorite (Fabra i Coats – Contemporary Art Centre of Barcelona), PRODUCE, PRODUCE, PRODUCED (Real Cercle Artístic, Barcelona), the projects Francesca Banchelli: Before The Name (MACBA, Barcelona) and TRANSEUROPE EXPRESS (OfficeCafè, Pistoia), and the video programmes presented by LOOP at Cinéphèmère-FIAC Paris (editions 2017, 2018, 2019).

She was editor of the publications I Have A Friend Who Knows Someone Who Bought a Video, Once (LOOP Barcelona, Mousse Publishing, 2016) and Before The Name: a book on an itinerant performance project (RAM Editions, 2018). Ciuti is a permanent collaborator of the magazine of contemporary culture and economics La Maleta de Portbou, and she has frequently contributed to the art catalogues of the publishing house Istituto Italiano Edizioni ATLAS.

In 2017, she co-founded the art collective CRiB to create hybrid projects straddling the visual arts, theatre and performance. Whether through writing, curating, or research, all of Carolina's projects denote a deep interest in the notion of 'time', its representation in the philosophical and cultural sphere, and its influence on the construction of identities.

Cultural programmer, photographer and student in a continuous learning process. Graduated in Audiovisual and Entertainment Production and in Photography and Creative Documentary. Her research is focused on (self) representation and a sensorial approach to inhabit other dynamics of audiovisual creation. Her works have been exhibited in "Contra la raza", at Matadero Madrid, in the Biennial of Contemporary African Art in Dakar, in the Pamplona Meetings and in "Cuerpos y culturas", in the VII Culture and Citizenship Meeting. She has been a juror/selectionist in film festivals such as FIC-CAT, Muestra de Mujeres and, currently, DocsBarcelona. She does consulting and accompaniment from an anti-racist point of view and sensitivity in different projects, and is working on her first photobook, Una habitación tutelada.

I am studying a college course in Audiovisual Production. I am passionate about art in all its forms, especially cinema and theatre. I hope to one day become a music video director or a stage manager.

I’m studying Audiovisual Communication at the UAB. I also participate in a radio program where I have a section dedicated to discovering female filmmakers. I'm a big fan of cinema, the kind that catches you because of the unique world it depicts. What I enjoy the most is analysing films and focusing on the little details that manage to make each of them special and different from the rest. @ptorne124

I am a student of Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia at ERAM College. I completed an internship at Atiende Films and in 2019-2021 I was part of the team of Young Programmers Moving Cinema programming at the Filmoteca de Catalunya, assisting at sessions at l’Alternativa – Barcelona Independent Film Festival, and developing a collection of films at Film. I am passionate about images, graphic design, and art house films, and in particular film reviewing, music production and documentary creation. @ albertlr2000

My name is Joaquin and I am fascinated by everything related to images and imagination. I am passionate about filming and watching everything I can, when I can. I aspire to nothing more than to continue living filming and watching. It is a privilege for me to be able to participate in this Young Jury, but not as a judge, rather a viewer eager to be conjured and transformed by all the works of the festival. I am a student of Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations. I love photography and art, and I am passionate about cinema. I’m especially interested in the Nouvelle Vague and experimental cinema. My taste is eclectic; I like both abstract and realistic proposals, and I have a predilection for dramas. Watching a film or any audiovisual work is a full experience, to which we surrender, we expose ourselves and during that time we are vulnerable to it, and I think that seeing what effect it will have on us is exciting.
