¿How can loneliness determine the way we observe and connect to the world around us?
A film essay that shows an exchange of the experiences of two people in totally different isolations: one voluntary and the other imposed. How can loneliness determine the way we observe and connect to the world around us?
"The Hermit" arises from the interest of portraying human lives in relation to nature. In the investigation process, we found a small hermitage in the middle of the Montsant mountain range, where Montserrat lives. Her story immediately fascinated us and we spent days with her, trying to understand her decision, her life based on simplicity, sharing her routine and fascination with the landscape.
From our own isolation experience, through phone conversations and photo exchanges with her, a new story emerged. These reflections and teachings led us to a more essayistic and poetic tale.
