Open call to register non-fiction projects to the professional market of DocsBarcelona 2025

DocsBarcelona has opened this Tuesday its call to submit projects to the different support, advice and financing programs of DocsBarcelona Industry, the professional market at DocsBarcelona, which from May 12 to 16, 2025, will once again be a meeting point for the professional non-fiction sector in Southern Europe, and will award prizes valued at 15.000 euros.

The call for applications will remain open until Monday, January 27, and consists of two periods: Early Bird, from December 10 to December 31; and Regular entry, from January 1 to January 27. Check the rules for each activity and register your project at Docs&Me.

The Industry Program offers opportunities for projects directed and/or produced by professionals from any country in the world and focused on any topic, which can be submitted to seven of the initiatives according to their needs, characteristics and/or objectives to achieve financing, distribution, training or support:

· Public Pitch: A selection of projects in development are presented to a decision-making group makers and industry professionals.

· Rough Cut Pitch: A selection of projects in the production phase seeking sales, distribution and exhibition opportunities are presented to a decision-making group makers and industry professionals.

· New Tech Pitch: A selection of non-fiction projects using emerging technologies are presented to a panel of funders, experts and professionals from the technology and audiovisual sectors. In collaboration with Sónar+D.

· Speed Meetings: Meetings 15-minute B2B between documentary projects and international funders with the aim of obtaining funding to develop their project.

· DocsBarcelona Campus: Creation laboratory with follow-up tutorials and training days during all year round for nonfiction projects.

· Artistic Consultations for Rough Cut Projects: Personalized 80-minute consultations with an expert tutor for projects in the assembly stage.

· DocsBarcelona Talents: Talent development support program, dedicated to contributing to the careers of five professionals in the field of non- fiction.

This professional market will be held within the framework of the 28th edition of the DocsBarcelona Festival, which from 8 to 18 May 2025 will once again bring the best documentary film premieres to Barcelona, as well as various parallel activities and visits from filmmakers from around the world. This year, the festival has five competitive sections, a major retrospective and a dozen prizes valued at almost 20,000 euros.
