Tolyatti, an old symbol of socialist pride, is now the Russian Detroit. In this futureless environment the Boyevaya Klassika movement arises, rescuing the iconic Lada cars from the city's car factory and transforming them into a means of rebellion and expression of youthful despair. We follow Slava, Misha and Lera during the year they have to face adulthood in a city devoid of hope. Laura Sisteró captures the spirit of a generation skidding on the ice with old Ladas converted into racing cars. The powerful visuals and sound of the film convey the malaise of Tolyatti's petrol-scented youth.
