Synopsis

Petri is 26 and feels totally lost. Dumped by his girlfriend, crushed by a huge mortgage and with a credit card on the limit, Petri feels like his life is empty while his flat is full of stuff.

There is something he’s missing, so he decides to find out what it is he really needs by starting an experiment with three rules: for a full year all his belongings will be in a store room, he will only be able to retrieve one every day and he won’t be allowed to buy anything new.

Reviews

A Finnish documentary about a material boy and the joys of letting go.

— Go London

The dread whiff of "structured reality" hangs over several interactions, yet the game poses worthwhile questions.

— Mike McCahill, The Guardian

A brave film, which goes for the jugular of the expansive consumerism of the 2000s with a fine (Finnish) mixture of seriousness and humor.

— Petri Luukkainen, Dafilms
