In a forest on the outskirts of Barcelona, a shepherd and his flock live next to CReSA, a laboratory dedicated to health research and animal experimentation. While the shepherd, suffering from a bone disease, witnesses the disappearance of his profession, the scientists at CReSA are busier than ever researching a vaccine for Covid-19. Thus, Fauna highlights the freedom of the shepherd's sheep, but also its opposite and darker side, the imprisonment of laboratory animals. Pau Faus constructs a science fiction fable through opposing tradition and progress, nature and technology to show the contradictions of the relationship between humans, animals and science in the post-pandemic world.
