Following the screening of ‘Quién vio los templos caer’, filmmaker Lucía Selva will be in conversation with representatives from the Sindicat d’Habitatge Socialista and the Sindicat de Llogateres to discuss the conflicts currently affecting cities such as Barcelona and Granada.
Drawing on the film’s poetic and critical universe, the session will open a lively dialogue on the housing crisis, gentrification and the progressive depersonalisation of urban spaces, as well as on the whitewashing of history to turn cities into showcases for tourism.
A conversation to collectively consider how cinema can capture that which is fading away, challenge dominant narratives and become a powerful tool for raising awareness, provoking discomfort and imagining other ways of inhabiting and narrating the world.
