As recent years have made clear, truth is no longer stable ground. It is contested, edited, performed. In a world saturated with images that claim to be real, the question is no longer simply what is true, but whether that question can still be answered at all.
‘Nobody Cares About the Truth’ returns as a space for confrontation: a place to move beyond what documentary cinema means for the idea of truth.
The third edition of the opening conference of DocsBarcelona Pro will be led by Mark Cousins, whose work has persistently dismantled the boundaries between history, memory, and imagination. During the masterclass, Cousins will delve into his own visual universe, an essayistic and intuitive landscape where images connect across time, emotion, and thought while offering a singular way of approaching truth through cinema.
With him, anything can happen. That is precisely why we are proud to welcome him as 2026 DocsBarcelona’s Guest of Honour.
