How do we portray reality in countries shaped by political instability?
In recent decades, Latin America has experienced institutional crises, impeachments, and sudden shifts in power—often under the pressure and intervention of external forces. In Peru alone, for instance, six presidents took office between 2016 and 2023, amid resignations, removals, and attempted coups. Recent situations in Venezuela, marked by a prolonged institutional crisis and intense international tensions; Cuba, shaped by decades of embargo; or Colombia, undergoing political transformation after years of armed conflict, all reveal different layers of this regional complexity.
How do you build a narrative in the midst of uncertainty? How do you film when everything is contested?
An invitation to explore documentary as a space for resistance, interpretation, and taking a stand.
