People in their eighties and nineties, and even some centenarians, talk candidly and eloquently about love, loneliness, grief, life and death
When René, 86, buys flowers, he always thinks about what colour his wife would have chosen if she was still alive. Most people in this film have spent more time with their partners than without them. Through sincere and revealing interviews, Echo of You presents a group of Danish men and women, all aged 80 and older, who, with touching honesty, share their thoughts about their partners, the despair of losing them, and the ways in which life goes on. Filmmaker Zara Zerny tenderly weaves their voices together as if they were a chorus, intertwining them with abstract and dreamlike images, music, and artistic interpretations of their lives.
