Thomas Papapetros

Director and editor. Co-founder of Kong Gulerod. Over the past 20 years, he has edited numerous award-winning films, including Banality of Grief (2021), Western Arabs (2019), 1989 (2014), and Burma VJ (2009), which won the World Cinema Award at the Sundance Film Festival. He received the Outstanding Achievement in Editing award at the 2010 Cinema Eye Honors Awards (USA).

Twenty years of personal recordings form a raw journey from Damascus to Denmark. Daro agrees to an engagement to protect her family, but ends up trapped in a forced and abusive marriage. After fleeing abroad, the war in Syria erupts in 2011, leading her to engage in the refugee crisis and confront her past.
