Lorena Ros

Lorena Ros (1975) is a filmmaker, documentary photographer and journalist. Recognized for an authorial approach to memory, identity and the dynamics of power that shape experiences of trauma, her work explores how the intimate intersects with collective memory. She developed much of her career between London and New York. She is a three-time World Press Photo winner and recipient of the One World Media Award from Amnesty International, among other international recognitions.

Her work is grounded in long-term research and close collaboration with the people she films, bringing a deep psychological and ethical commitment to her filmmaking. She is the author of Unspoken (Blume / Schilt Publishing), teaches at LCI Barcelona, and is currently developing her next film.

After eight years in prison, Noa, a 48-year-old Spanish Romani trans woman, fights to regain custody of her twin sons, now under state care. Facing eviction, she searches for a home with support from her cousin Marykarmen Free and a group of friends living on the margins of Barcelona.
