Alex Sardà

Alex Sardà is a filmmaker from Barcelona who works in both fiction and documentary. His feature film debut, Hafreiat, premiered at Sheffield DocFest 2022. During its festival run, it received the DOC España award at SEMINCI 2022, a Special Jury Mention at MiradasDoc 2022, and the International Audience Award at the Amman FilmFest 2023.

In the field of fiction, his short film El Príncep (15L Films, Canada, 2024) was awarded the Gaudí Award for Best Short Film 2025 and Best National Short Film at SEMINCI 2024. It continues to receive awards and recognition in the festival circuit. He is currently developing a fiction feature film that explores Spanish colonialism in Equatorial Guinea through family dynamics and contemporary masculinities—themes he already addressed in Hafreiat and in his previous short films Gang (2020), Fuga (2021), and El Príncep (2024).
