Campus DocsBarcelona celebrates its fourth edition in 2022 and this year it aims to guide about 15 feature-length documentary projects in their initial stage, in order to give them an international dimension. The goal is to direct them in their growth, bring them closer to the international market and offer them opportunities to get finance and become great films.
The DocsBarcelona Campus activities are online. All sessions will be in Spanish.
Programme
In the first module, which will take place in May, the projects will be trained in Pitch strategies, with Joan Gonzàlez; and in the legal area and audiovisual rights, with Carlota Planas. They will also participate in a soundtrack workshop with Marta Sancho.
In the second module, the projects will delve into the world of marketing, with consultant and advisor Angela Bosch; markets and festivals with international producer Marieke van den Berseelar and international distribution with Claudia Rodríguez, a distribution specialist.
In addition, different individual mentoring sessions will be held during the year to analyze the points of the project and improve its development.

Expansion of the DocsBarcelona Campus
This edition, thanks to new grants from the ICAA's "Creation labs and incubators for the creation and development of audiovisual projects" program, focused on promoting audiovisual creation through the reinforcement of laboratories, incubators and residencies, the DocsBarcelona Campus is growing for the benefit of the projects selected for the 2022 and 2023 editions.
During the last quarter of this years there will be workshops with experts who will train participants in vital issues for the enrichment of their feature film. Such as ways to make a sustainable audiovisual production, new techniques to generate immersive experiences in films and reflections on unconscious prejudices in the audiovisual sector.
In addition to the Campus training, for the 2022 and 2023 editions, and for the more developed projects, we have an extension grant with individualized editing tutorials and participation in the new Pitch-Lab session, in front of international buyers, within the DocsBarcelona festival 2023 and 2024.
Thanks to the promotion of the "Creation Labs and Incubators" program, we have had the opportunity to create new partnerships with other festivals and companies in the audiovisual sector:
• Doklab Award
In collaboration with Arena Comunicación, the Doklab Award has been created, which involves the exchange between a project of the DocsBarcelona Campus and a project of Doklab Navarra. The award covers, for a DocsBarcelona Campus project, the registration and accommodation expenses for the Doklab residence: 14 days of immersive residence training for documentary filmmakers.
• Punctum Sales Award
Two projects from the Campus will win the Punctum Sales Award, in which this sales agency will offer them consultancy to give them a boost in the distribution of their future films.
• Cine por Mujeres Festival
New master classes and meetings for the professional growth of filmmakers and their projects are also incorporated within the framework of Cine por Mujeres in Madrid. This festival will also select two projects to participate in the DocsBarcelona Campus.
• In-Edit Festival
The In-Edit festival, specialized in music documentary films, will also open a call for projects and will choose one to participate in the DocsBarcelona Campus.
