DocsBarcelona participates at the Docedge Kolkata - Asian Forum for Documentary 2024

The Artistic Director of the DocsBarcelona International Documentary Film Festival, Anna Petrus, will travel from March 7th to 12th to Kolkata (India) as a decision maker to the Docedge Kolkata - Asian Forum for Documentary, an initiative of the Documentary Resource Initiative where 25 documentary projects from Asia will be presented.

The Docedge Kolkata - Asian Forum for Documentary is an incubator for Asian projects and one of the most important platforms for co-production on the continent. The objective of the event is to seek co-production opportunities for independent filmmakers, as well as to establish international partnerships for their projects.

This will be the first time DocsBarcelona participates in an Asian forum. Anna Petrus highlighted that this is a "unique opportunity to build bridges between the DocsBarcelona festival and the important documentary film industry in Asia". Petrus added that DocsBarcelona hopes "that more films and documentary projects from this continent will arrive in Barcelona in the coming years".
