In Martinique, a curse upon men leads to their disappearance. A group of young friends meet and talk about their relationship to the island
Nos Îles is an intimate portrait of Martinique, initially showing us idyllic landscapes, which conceal a historical and colonial conflict. Through a gaze that moves away from exoticization, the director captures the island’s socio-economic complexities and colonial legacy, weaving a story through youthful conversations that fluctuate between the everyday and the profound, between joy and critical reflection.
