DocsBarcelona Industry will once again host the main professional non-fiction market in Southern Europe from May 12 to 16
This will be after achieving a historic record for registrations: over 650 projects have been submitted, nearly double the number in 2024, the highest figure in the 28 years of its history.
DocsBarcelona Industry, the professional market of DocsBarcelona, will once again be the meeting point for the non-fiction sector in Southern Europe from May 12 to 16, 2025, after hosting 800 accredited professionals in 2024. The Industry program offers various initiatives and activities for support, advice, and funding aimed at professionals, including pitchings, meetings between funders and projects in development, and masterclasses, among others, as well as awards worth over 15,000 euros. This professional market will take place as part of the 28th edition of the DocsBarcelona Festival, which from May 8 to 18, 2025, will bring the best documentary cinema premieres to the city, along with various parallel activities and visits from filmmakers from around the world.
Historic participation record, with more than 650 projects submitted
The call to participate in the various funding, training, and advisory activities of DocsBarcelona Industry 2025 has closed after achieving a historic record of registrations, with over 650 projects submitted, nearly double the number of projects received last year. In this way, DocsBarcelona continues its clear upward trend in project registrations observed in recent editions and celebrates having achieved, once again, the most participatory call in the 28-year history of the event.
