While telling her daughter a bedtime story, Mailin pieces together her memories. What could have been a fairy tale turns out to be the story of a girl who suffered abuse by a priest for fifteen years. It is a long journey toward healing and justice, but also an opportunity to give her daughter the childhood she never had.
After winning the Pardino d’Oro for Best Short Film at Locarno in 2021 with Criatura, and premiering the short film The Spiral at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes 2022, María Silvia Esteve returns with a powerful story filmed over eight years that, through archival footage, home movies, and spectral animations, immerses us in the memories of an abuse that slowly emerge and endure.

The Beauty of Errors explores the evolving bond between a father and son. As years pass, their closeness grows. Loneliness is just around the corner, and he has to stand by himself, while facing the universal fear of losing love.
Kärkkäinen takes us to rural Finland to explore masculinity, family, and alcoholism. More than fifteen years after The Living Room of a Nation, where he portrayed the characters for the first time, he reintroduces them now through everyday scenes full of humor and melancholy, revealing the small details that weave this father-son relationship at a time of change, when we witness that time does not stop.
In 1996, a Brazilian official and a Swedish journalist ventured into the Amazon to document the isolated Korubo tribe caught in escalating land conflicts. Initially hailed as a heroic breakthrough, the footage now demands to be re-examined. More than a century ago, Flosi Björnsson and his brothers isolated themselves at the foot of Iceland’s largest glacier. None married or had children; they devoted their lives to the glacier before anyone spoke of its melting. Their farm remained sealed until now. Photographer Ragnar Axelsson returns and invokes Flosi’s voice, which draws pilgrims. The glacier sings a requiem beneath a white shroud.
