The Rough-Cut Pitch is an in-person and live-streamed activity, in which a selection of 4 documentaries at a rough cut stage will get the chance to present in front of a wide panel of financers and industry experts from around the world, interested in projects in this phase of post-production.

Each selected project will give a 20 minute presentation, followed by 10 minutes of feedback from the industry professionals, who will have had prior access to the project materials including the trailer and the selected scenes. After that, the projects and the financers will hold individual meetings.

Selection process

A professional selection committee will evaluate the international potential, the quality, and the artistic approach of the projects. The committee will also consider the subject of the documentary, in order to ensure thematic diversity. The director and producer’s CV will also be taken into account - DocsBarcelona is looking for experienced filmmakers, as well as new talents.

All DocsBarcelona Industry activities will be conducted in English.
