Rosine Mbakam

Rosine Mbakam grew up in Yaoundé, Cameroon, in a popular neighbourhood that nurtured her imagination as a filmmaker. She worked for three years at STV in Douala as a director and producer and later she enrolled at INSAS, a Belgian film school.
Her graduation film You will be my ally was very notable. She founded her own production company, Tândor Productions, and has directed 4 documentary feature films selected at the most important film festivals in the world. She is also a teacher and researcher at KASK in Ghent.
The New Yorker defines her as "an original filmmaker of exceptional sensitivity; one of today's best documentary filmmakers".
