Robert Goodman

Director

Robert M. Goodman is an Emmy-nominated director and filmmaker with over 35 years of experience. Goodman wrote, directed and shot hundreds of film and video projects on four continents. Stone Reader, the nonfiction feature he co-produced, won Special Grand Jury Honors and the Audience Award for Best Feature at the Slamdance Film Festival. His work is in the permanent collections of Indiana University and the Anthology Film Archives.

Goodman began his career as a still photographer before transitioning into cinematography and the film industry. He has conducted workshops on digital cinematography, production workflow, and storytelling for broadcasters, festivals and other organizations around the globe. For two decades, he was a contributing editor for various film magazines and is the author of nine books on cinematography and filmmaking.

He was a Professor at The Art Institute of Philadelphia teaching filmmaking and supervising senior thesis films for nine years prior to moving to Denmark. Educated at Goddard College, he holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dramatic Writing and provides dramaturgy services for nonfiction filmmakers. He is a member of the Danish Directors Association.
