Documentary filmmaker and programmer

Petra Seliškar passionate documentary filmmaker devoted to creative documentaries and little life pleasures. Petra Seliškar (b. 1978 in Ljubljana) is a director, producer, lecturer and festival art director and programmer living in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Skopje, N.Macedonia. She studied documentary directing at the Amsterdam Film Academy. Petra holds an MA degree in Media Studies from the Sheffield Hallam University in UK. She made three feature length documentaries (The Grandmothers of Revolution, Mother Europe, My World Is Upside Down) and produced many more, all of which had extensive festival tours, won international awards and were sold to European broadcasters. In 2003, she founded Petra Pan Film. In April 2010, Petra Seliškar was appointed Artistic Director and Programmer of the Makedox Creative Documentary Film Festival in Macedonia, one of the unique creative documentary festivals in the region, which she has developed into an important creative meeting place of the international non-fiction industry. She is a member of the Balkan Documentary Distribution Network, MOVING DOX, a member of the European Film Academy, mamber of DAY. She works as advisor and tutor and has served on many international festival juries and selection committees. She has been an active part of the European film festival landscape. Her company Petra Pan Film has produced and co-produced over 20 feature length documentaries and fiction and documentary series in the last 18 years, receiving numerous international awards.
