Miriam Porté

Founder of Distinto Films. Among her more outstanding film projects are The Wild Ones (best film at the Malaga Festival 2012 and nominated for 3 Goya Awards), The Great Vázquez (Official Section at the San Sebastian Festival 2010), Yo (Winner of the FIPRESCI Award at the Rotterdam Festival 2007). Her television productions follow a strong editorial line, telling stories of women who are not sufficiently recognized, such as Clara Campoamor, Concepción Arenal, Margarida Xirgu – to make them known to a mainstream audience. She is currently the president of Dones Visuals, an association that brings together female audiovisual professionals committed to defending, promoting, and making effective the presence of women in this sector.
