Miguel Eek

Born in Madrid in 1982 and raised between Mallorca, Stockholm and Barcelona. Graduated in Documentary Filmmaking at the Catalan Film School, he is Alumni of the EURODOC, IDFAcademy, Walden Residencies and Un domingo en el país (EFA).
Miguel worked as an editor and director for various production companies until 2007, when he founded Mosaic, a production company specializing in documentary films that produces all of his current work, as well as that of other filmmakers. In 2019 he created the MajorDocs film festival in Mallorca and has been its artistic director since.
His works have been selected and awarded in more than 50 festivals around the world. In 2020 he released his first two feature films: The First Woman, premiering in the official selections of IDFA 2020, Málaga Film Festivak¡l, Docaviv, Full Frame or Doc Edge, among others, and winner at the Barcelona Independent Film Festival; and Coming Soon, Last Days, premiered at SEMINCI 2020. Burden is his third feature film.
