Mariana Viñoles

Mariana Viñoles grows up in Melo, a city in the interior of Uruguay. At 18, she travels to the capital and studies Social Communication and assists to training workshops on film. In 2001 she traveled to Belgium and studied Cinematography. In 2004, she co-founded Cronopio Film. Between 2005 and 2015 she films and directs five documentary feature films. Her documentary El mundo de Carolina premieres in 2015 in the official competition at IDFA (Amsterdam International Film Festival). In 2016, Cronopio Film gets dissolved and Mariana founded La Piscina Film to continue dedicating herself to the creation of independent films. El gran viaje al país pequeño is her last documentary.
