Lina Soualem

French-Palestinian-Algerian filmmaker and actress based in Paris. History and Political Science graduate at La Sorbonne University. Former programmer for the International Human Rights FF in Buenos Aires, she has directed the multiawarded films Their Algeria (2020, Visions du Réel) and Bye Bye Tiberias (2023, Venice, TIFF, IDFA, DOC NYC), which won Best Documentary Award at the BFI and was chosen to represent Palestine at the Oscars 2024 and nominated for Best Documentary at the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards. She acted in films by Hafsia Herzi, Hiam Abbass, and Rayhana, and worked as a researcher and writing coordinator on the series OUSSEKINE (Disney+).
