Born in Barcelona in 1968. PhD in Communication, BA in Art History and Certificate in Film from New York University. She has directed the films Nosotras (2001), awarded in Sitges, Lorca and Vitoria among others; 53 días de invierno (2007) present at the San Sebastian Film Festival, best actress at the Toulouse Festival and nominated for 10 Barcelona awards; Elisa K (2010) winner of the Special Jury Prize at San Sebastian, Special Jury Mention at Nantes, National Culture Award from the Generalitat de Catalunya, nominated for 5 Gaudí Awards and a Goya for Best Adapted Screenplay among other awards; and her most recent film, 15 horas (2021), winner of awards at the Malaga and Marseille Film Festivals. For TV she has directed the feature films Positius (2008), Fragments (2003), Radiacions (2012) and L'últim ball de Carmen Amaya (2014). She was vice-president of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from 2011 to 2015 and is currently president of the Catalan Film Academy. She is a lecturer and vice-dean of Business at the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication and International Relations, Ramón Llull University in Barcelona.
