Juan Solera has worked in the distribution and production of documentaries for ten years, being part of Sideways Films for the last four years, and in his career he has represented documentaries such as Cobain: Montage of Heck, Martha: A Picture Story and Nomad: In the Footsteps of Bruce Chatwin from legendary director Werner Herzog.
He has been regularly invited as a Decision Maker to Sheffield Doc/Fest, HotDocs, RIDM Montreal, Rio Content Market (where he also works as a consultant to suggest international guests), MiradasDoc, and many more. He is also part of the International Jury of the Emmy Awards, and invited as an expert guest at EAVE. He has taught documentary distribution at CreaDoc in Tenerife and he appears regularly in panels and pitching forums at festivals and markets internationally.
In addition to working in numerous areas of audiovisual production, from music videos to documentary shorts, in 2018 he finished his first independent documentary which was shown on television and various online platforms and won two awards for best documentary at international festivals such as Deaville Green Awards and Impact Docs.
