Josh Willacy

Lead Trainer and Consultant

Josh Willacy is a trainer, writer, and consultant. He has provided equality, diversity and inclusion advice and training at all levels to organisations across the private, public, and not for profit sectors whilst at Challenge Consultancy.

After graduating from The University of Bristol with a BSc in Politics and International Relations, Josh entered corporate communications, trained as a journalist then joined Stonewall the prominent advocacy organisation for the LGBTQ+ communities. He joined Challenge Consultancy in 2018

As a mixed-race gay man of Caribbean heritage, he believes in celebrating multiple identities. He fed into Stonewall’s strategy on engaging LGBTQ people who are from racial and ethnic minorities. Josh also designed and delivered Stonewall’s flagship Role Model empowerment programmes for LGBTQ+ people from racial and ethnic minorities.

Josh has worked extensively with the arts and heritage sectors. He is comfortable working within large organisations like Guardian News and Media and the Houses of Parliament. He is equally at home with organisations such as the National Literacy Trust and the Education Endowment Foundation, bringing his charm, skills, and expertise to where it is needed.

He has designed, developed training courses such as Anti-Racism in the Workplace, Managing a Diverse Team Remotely and Class and Unconscious Bias. He is comfortable training staff at all levels of seniority inside organisations. He is skilled in delivering sessions in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, Inclusive Leadership, Dignity at Work, Unconscious Bias and has led sessions that allow people to talk about race and ethnicity in a safe non-judgmental environment.
