Javier Tolentino

Director and writer

Javier Tolentino is known and recognised for his radio career on Radio 3, Radio Nacional de España with his program El séptimo vicio (1999-2021) and in recent years for his incursion into filmmaking (La noche que supe de Peter Pan, 2008; Alba, 2013; Entretelas, 2021 and Un blues para Teherán with Quatre Films/Eddie Saeta, 2020, nominated for the Goya and Gaudí Awards).

He has published several books, including Julieta en el país de las maravillas, un diálogo con Norma Leandro (Ediciones Ocho y medio, 2004), El cine que me importa (Larousse Editorial, 2014), Disculpen que les hable de la radio (Ediciones Canibaal/Ediciones Ocho y Medio, 2017), Basilio Martín Patino (Editorial Cátedra, 2023) and Cuestión de Carácter (Filmoteca Canaria, 2023).

In Un Blues para Teherán, he opted for independent, auteur cinema, going a step further from a directorial and creative perspective.

He is currently preparing his second feature film Mar Rojo, which is being shot in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Madrid and Mexico.
