Francisco Forbes (Buenos Aires, 1984) has been working in the film industry since 2006. His first feature documentary, NOCHE SIN FORTUNA (Winner Best LatAm Doc FIDOCS) narrated the life and death of the acclaimed Colombian writer, Andrés Caicedo. Shortly after followed LOST ALAMO, a portrait of the narco-country band Los Alamos and SIT AND WATCH (Winner Best Mid Length Visions Du Reel 2016), in which six everyday scenarios play out in modern London summoning ideas of representation, spectacle and human behaviour. His last documentary is SCIENCE FICTION (2024), produced with support of the Sundance DFP. The film narrates an ageing inventor’s journey to put behind a lifelong obsession, while dealing with personal trauma.
As a film editor, he has collaborated with Danny Huston on THE LAST PHOTOGRAPH (Autonomous London) and Yaara Bou Melhem on UNSEEN SKIES (Participant, In Films), among many others. His work has been featured at international film festivals such as: Visions Du Réel, Clermont Ferrand, BAFICI, Mar del Plata, CPH:DOX, Docs MX, La Habana, San Francisco IFF, among others.
