Fernanda Pessoa is a filmmaker and visual artist who works mainly with documentary cinema and video installations. She lives and works in São Paulo, and has lived in Arizona, Buenos Aires and Paris, where she completed her master’s degree in Audiovisuals at the Sorbonne Nouvelle under the guidance of Philippe Dubois. She directed three shorts with international exhibitions and held solo and group exhibitions. In 2017, she completed her first feature documentary Stories that our cinema (didn’t) tell, which screened at over 25 national and international festivals. Arid Zone, her second feature documentary, has been awarded in three post-production labs and will make its world debut at the Dok Leipzig festival’s competitive Next Masters.
