He holds a BA degree in Information Sciences from the University of the Basque Country, and has a PhD in Communication from the UAB in Barcelona. Since 1988 he has been a professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the UAB in Barcelona and in 2007 he joined the Carlos University III in Madrid.
His bibliography is endless. He has written for Dirigido por..., Fulls de Cinema, El País, Fotogramas, Secuencias, among others. He’s the author of Realismo, compromiso, poesía. El cine de Fernando León de Aranoa(Malaga, 2017) and Joaquim Oristrell: el oficio en plural (Barcelona, 2011) as well as having contributed to numerous collective works such as Productores en el cine español. Estado, dependencias y mercado (Madrid, 2008) among a really long list of other titles.
He’s the co-writer of the documentary La passió possible. L’Escola de Barcelona directed by Jordi Cadena and he’s programming director of the festival Cines del Sur. He serves as a member of the jury at various festivals such as Alcalá de Henares, Guadalajara, Cinema Jove de Valencia, Latinoamericano de Huelva, Sitges, Havana, Turin, San Sebastián, as well as a being jury member for awards such as Els Ondas and Ciutat de Barcelona.
