Anna Petrus

Anna Petrus is a filmmaker, film critic, cultural researcher, teacher and currently Artistic Director of DocsBarcelona. She has directed multiple pieces of film between video art, fiction, documentary and experimental that have toured festivals such as Cannes, Festival des Films du Monde (Montréal), FicXixón, among many others. She has worked as a film critic in specialized newspapers and magazines, such as Dirigido por, Caimán Cuadernos de Cine or the Cultura/s supplement of La Vanguardia. She is currently an opinion writer for the newspaper Ara, where she writes about cinema, audiovisuals and feminism. She is a founding member of Dones Visuals, the association of women filmmakers of Catalonia, where she has been a member of the Board of Directors for the last seven years.
