Allison Figueroa Rojas

Filmmaker

Born in Chile and raised part of her life in and around Canada, she studied Literature and Film History at Concordia University in Tiohtià:ke, known today as Montreal, Quebec. During this time she began teaching herself various elements and techniques of image composition, post-production, filming and soundscape composition. In Montreal, Allison began working with contemporary dancers, multidisciplinary artists, sculptors and designers. By creatively pushing herself, she has established a bridge between her creative interests, artistic direction and the academic world-- her research has been published through the Fine Arts Department of Concordia University as well as in film magazines. Additionally, she has been consulted for media-strategy courses at La Salle College (Montreal, QC). In the last year, her audiovisual works were exhibited at Articule contemporary art gallery in Montreal; works that explore displacement, memory, and mythology of migratory identities in Canada. Allison is currently living in Barcelona indefinitely, completed the Master's Degree in Creative Documentary Film at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
