Premiere of the first episode of "548 dies: Captada per una secta ", a documentary series coming June 30 exclusively to Disney+.
The three-part original series is about Patricia Aguilar, who in 2017 was captured by a cult. Her subsequent escape, her family's search for her and her rescue are the focus of this production, which includes the first testimony of the young woman from Elche since she was rescued. Written and directed by Olmo Figueredo González-Quevedo ("El estado contra Pablo Ibar") and José Ortuño ("¿Dónde está Marta?"), it is based on the book "Hágase tu voluntad" ("Let your will be done") that the journalist Vanesa Lozano published about this shocking case.
The directors and Sofía Fábregas, Vice President of Original Production at Disney+, will introduce the screening of the first episode of the series at DocsBarcelona on May 26th at 5.30pm. To document the story, the team has had exclusive interviews, access to the judicial summary of the case, multiple WhatsApp and Messenger conversations of the protagonists, as well as videos and photographs.
