El Racó d’en Binu was the first Catalan restaurant outside of Barcelona to receive two Michelin stars. Today, Francesc and Francina, the restaurant owners, withstand the passing of time.
In 1979 the restaurant El Racó d'en Binu received the first two Michelin stars for a Catalan restaurant outside Barcelona. Francesc Fortí and Francina Suriñach have experienced the success and decline of a cuisine that is being lost. The 70s and 80s catapulted its gastronomy and since then they have resisted modernity. The phone hasn’t rung in years, but they continue to open the doors every day. Entering Binu is taking a journey back in time and into the history of two stars on the brink of extinction.
