A woman walks barefoot over a rocky outcrop, somewhere by the sea. Who is she, and
what is she doing there? Is it a meditation, an act of penance, defiance
perhaps? Or a gesture of love? Director Victor Kossakovsky offers a cinematic and wordless
interpretation of the myth of Sisyphus in Trillion, the second
installment of his “empathy trilogy” that began with Gunda (2020).

Victor Kossakovsky

Victor Kossakovsky (Saint Petersburg, 1961) is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary documentary cinema. Trained in documentary filmmaking in Leningrad, he has developed a body of work defined by a poetic and observational style, often without dialogue and with a strong sensory dimension.

Among his most notable works are ¡Vivan las Antípodas! (2011), Aquarela (2018), Gunda (2020), and Architecton (2024).
